DETROIT — Roosevelt responded to its first defeat of the season with a road victory over Wayne State on October 10. The Lakers' official athletics statistics report a 33–18 victory, improving Roosevelt to 5–1 overall and 1–1 in GLIAC competition.
The win came one week after Michigan Tech ended Roosevelt's undefeated start. Against Wayne State, the Lakers returned to winning form and secured their first conference victory of the campaign.
Through six games, Roosevelt had already surpassed its entire 2025 win total. The turnaround represents a significant development for the program as it continues establishing itself in Division II football.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — Roosevelt's undefeated start came to an end against Michigan Tech, which defeated the Lakers 57–28 on October 3. Roosevelt entered the game 4–0 after victories over Chicago State, Quincy, Southwest Baptist, and Wisconsin–Stout.
